Kyungbuk Office of Education TEE Camp. January 2010. Keimyung University

Authentic English Activities – 8 hours (4 x 2 hour classes)

Instructor: Peter Daley

Here is a rough schedule for our classes. It is subject to change though as I’d like incorporate any ideas participates have for the class.

Class Schedule:   

First Class:         Group 1 - Monday, January 4.           Rm 327, 2 p.m. - 3:50.
                         Group 2 - Tuesday, January 5.           Rm 328, 2 p.m. - 3:50.

Introductions & Course overview.
Discussion: Authentic materials: pros and cons.
Examples of some speaking activities.
Discussion.

Second Class:    Group 1 - Wednesday, January 6.      Rm 327, 2 p.m. - 3:50.
                        Group 2 - Thursday, January 7.         Rm 328, 2 p.m. - 3:50.

Listening activities: Examples and resources.
Discussion.

Third Class:       Group 1 - Monday, January 11.           Rm 327, 2 p.m. - 3:50.
                        Group 2 - Tuesday, January 12.          Rm 328, 2 p.m. - 3:50.

Using the Internet and small group discussions.

Fourth Class:     Group 1 - Wednesday, January 13.    Rm 327, 2 p.m. - 3:50.
                        Group 2 - Thursday, January 14.       Rm 328, 2 p.m. - 3:50.

Lesson planning and presentation. In groups of 3 or 4 participates will prepare and present a lesson plan based on a unit from either of the two text books provided (Middle School English or High School English)
