I absolutely adore Stanley Myers’ composition “Cavatina”, which was written for the film The Deer Hunter and performed by legendary Australian guitarist John Williams. I’ve been playing it badly now for over twenty years now, and I’ve never grown tired of it. Playing this on guitar is a meditation for me, and learning the melody on piano gave me a new appreciation of its beauty:
