Friday, Sept. 1: The month started with a nice weights session after lunch: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, thighs, hamstrings, lower back, and a few light sets for my calves and sides. I also worked around 18 kilometers, making the most of my pre-semester free time.
Saturday, Sept. 2: Rest day – a day of rest.
Sunday, Sept. 3: My first Seoul swim! 1,150 meters plus 9.6 kilometers walking.
Monday, Sept. 4: I walked about 7 kilomters and went to my favorite gym for a core and calves workout. I had planned on more, but I was quite tired after the first day of the semester.
Tuesday, Sept. 5: No gym today; instead, I walked about 10 kilometers. Hopefully, I’ll go to the gym early tomorrow morning.
Wednesday, Sept. 6: I walked 9.6 kilometers instead of going to the gym. I should have gone to the gym.
Thursday, Sept. 7: I walked 10.3 kilometers instead of going to the gym. I should have gone to the gym.
Friday, Sept. 8: I walked 10 kilometers instead of going to the gym. I should have gone to the gym.
Saturday, Sept. 9: Finally back in the gym: lats, core, bicep, forearms, and legs.
Sunday, Sept. 10: My swim plans were dashed when I learned my pool was closed. Instead, I walked about 11 kilometers.
Monday, Sept. 11: An evening gym session: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, calves, core, and forearms (just a little). I also walked about 9 kilometers.
Tuesday, Sept. 12: An evening 1.15 kilometer swim.
Wednesday, Sept. 13: Not much walking.
Thursday, Sept. 14: Not much walking.
Friday, Sept. 15: I walked around 10 kilometers today instead of going to the gym. I should have gone to the gym.
Saturday, Sept. 16: I walked around 11 kilometers today instead of going to the gym. I should have gone to the gym.
Sunday, Sept. 17: I almost went for a swim.
Monday, Sept. 18: A busy day.
Tuesday, Sept. 19: I walked around 12.5 kilometers, but I really need to get back into the gym.
Wednesday, Sept. 20: Nah.
Thursday, Sept. 21: I walked 8 kilometers instead of going to the gym. I should have gone to the gym.
Friday, Sept. 22: I will return to the gym this evening, and that’s a promise to myself that I will not break. Update: I am now enjoying a post-diner green tea latter literally meters from my gym. Not ready to declare success yet, but I’m damn close. … I did it! A decent weights session to dust away those cobwebs: back, lats, biceps, core, and calves. Also, I walked 11.5 kilometers.
Saturday, Sept. 23: Back in the gym and hopefully, I’m back on track. Weights: chest, shoulders, traps, triceps, and a little legs plus ten steep cardio minutes that ended with a bit of speed.
Sunday, Sept. 24: I walked 10 kilometers.
Monday, Sept. 25: Zilch.
Tuesday, Sept. 26: More zilch.
Wednesday, Sept. 27: I walked 12 kilometers instead of going to the gym. I should have gone to the gym.
Thursday, Sept. 28: Zilch again.
Friday, Sept. 29: Just some walking.
Saturday, Sept. 30: Some more walking to end a rather disastrous month.
Total Cardio Sessions (Goal 15): 3 – Compared to 26 back in May.
