December 2020 Intermittent Fasting Diary!

CONTINUED FROM NOVEMBER

Tuesday, December 1: I broke my first fast of the month with a morning omlette with pancakes.

Tuesday/Wednesday (December 1 & 2): The fasting clock started much earlier than normal at the crazy time of 9:22 a.m. It’s now just past 11 p.m., and I feel pretty good. I sailed past the 24-hour mark for the first time in a while and eventually broke my fast after 25.5 hours.

Wednesday/Thursday (Decmber 2 & 3): The fasting clock began 12 minutes before noon. It’s now 9.5 hours later, and I just returned home from a quick evening workout. My fast continued until morning.

Thursday/Friday (December 3 & 4): Another early start to fasting with a 10:25 a.m. start. Twenty-three hours later, I ate.

Friday/Saturday (December 4 & 5): The fasting clock started at 10:30 a.m. after the day’s one meal, and another longer fast ensued.

Saturday/Sunday (December 5 & 6):  Another one-meal day is on the cards as the fasting clock began at 12:22 p.m. I cheated a little with a small snickers bar a few hours after a pretty intense weights session.

Sunday/Monday (December 6 & 7): The fasting clock began again at 11:30 a.m., but that proved too early and I ate again in the evening. The resulting fast was still satisfactory at a touch over 17 hours.

Monday/Tuesday (December 7 & 8): Today’s fast started at 12:44 p.m., I went to the gym in the evening, and then by the time I started breakfast, 20 hours had passed since I had last eaten.

Tuesday/Wednesday (Decemeber 8 & 9): On Tuesday, I finished eating for the day at 11:55 a.m. However, I ate again in the early evening, and my fast started for the second time today at 5:52 p.m. Breakfast was begun at 12:14 on Wednesday afternoon.

Wednesday/Thursday (December 9 & 10): My next fast started late due to an evening meal that was gone by just after 8 p.m. The resulting fast was a pretty easy one at 16 hours and 46 minutes.

Thursday/Friday (December 10 & 11): Today’s fast began just as my last Thursday classes were beginning at 1:33 p.m.  I made it through the night and then I ran a few errands in the morning which helped go past 22.5 hours.

Friday/Saturday (December  11 & 12): My next fast started at 2:02 p.m. and the current plan is to not eat until tomorrow’s free lunch at work. I didn’t last that long, but I was happy with my fast as the evening included a weights session at home. I broke my fast with a protein shake before heading out to work.

Saturday/Sunday (December 12 & 13): This fast wasn’t really a fast as I snacked a little late at night, so I’ll this fast is cancelled.

Sunday/Monday (December 13 & 14): I stopped eating for the day at 4:10 p.m. and made it past my morning checkup. Breakfast, which was a huge omlette with a pancake, was my only meal of the day, and it was a big one! The first bite of which ended a fast of 18 hours and 7 minutes.

Monday/Tuesday (December 14 & 15): I just finished my second latte at the pancake place, and I feel very full. The time is 11:07 a.m. and the fasting clock just began again. I changed my mind and had a protein smoothie a couple of hours later. The fasting clock began again at 1:06 p.m. Another 24hr+ fast was accomplished quite easily due to a lazy morning. Weights last night ensured I burned calories before bed, so overall I’m very satsified with this fast of 24 hours and 19 minutes.

Tuesday/Wednesday (December 15 & 16): The plan is to make today a one-meal day, and I therefore started the fasting clock after completing breakfast at 1:55 p.m. Like yesterday, I restarted the fasting clock after a protein smoothie. I began breakfast 18 hours later.

Wednesday/Thursday (December 16 & 17): My fast started in the early afternoon, and I was on track for another longish fast. But a migraine blindsided me, and at 1:30 a.m., I went outside to buy some Tylenol from my local convenience store. It was the worst headache I’ve had in a long while, and I thought some food couldn’t hurt and might even help on the off chance my migraine was triggered by my fasting. So the fast was cancelled, but I’m ok as I really didn’t have much choice.

Thursday/Friday (December 17 & 18): I had cereal for breakfast at around 10:30 a.m. and then lunch around 4 p.m. The fasting clock began at 4:11 p.m., and since I have a medical check-up tomorrow morning, eating tonight is strictly forbidden. Well, I could eat later – I just have to fast for at least eight hours before my 11 a.m. appointment, but I’ll stay the course. I almost made it to 22 hours, so that’s a success. And I need to do more of that as the doc told me to get back down to 80 kg.

Friday/Saturday (December 18 & 19): My next fast started at 3:02 p.m. and lasted a few minutes longer than yesterday’s. In between calories, I did weights at home on Friday night and I walked 4 km on Saturday morning.

Saturday/Sunday (December 19 & 20): Quite a lot of food in the evening as it was a special occassion. The fasting clock started later at 8:39 p.m. to be precise, but I still managed to complete a successful fast.

Sunday/Monday (December 20 & 21): Another instance of starting the fasting a clock a second time at night. This time the clock started at 9:17 p.m. It’s now 15 hours later, and I’m sipping a coffee with a splash of milk at home. I broke my fast after a rare campus visit, ending a fast of 17:40.

Monday/Tuesday (December 21 & 22): Monday was just a one-meal day and the fasting clock started at 3:15 p.m. The resulting fast was surprisingly easy, and I oddly felt a little bloated around the 19-hour mark. Breakfast at McDonald’s broke a fast of 21 hours and four minutes.

Tuesday/Wednesday (December 22 & 24): I had a lightish dinner of coconut soup and some bread, and the fasting clock started at 5:20 p.m. Breakfast was begun 20 hours and 10 minutes later.

Wednesday/Thursday (December 23 & 24): My next fast began at 2:03 p.m. and it was not a pure one as I had a protein yogurt drink at night. It was still a pretty long fast though at 22.25 hours.

Xmas Eve/Xmas: Nothing much happening since this is a Covid Christmas, so my fasting was not interupted by feasting. My fast started at 2:40 p.m. It’s now 9:15 p.m., and I feel pretty good. I don’t think I’ll be tempted to eat before sleep calls. It’s Christmas morning, and I just passed the 18.5 hour mark. I exercised before bed and I exercised before breakfast, so I think I burned a good amount of fat. Breakfast broke a fast – as the word suggests – of 21 hours and 12 minutes.

Xmas/Saturday (December 26): My Christmas fast began later at 9:20 p.m. after a home cooked Christmas feast. Normally, Christmas time is a time for forgetting all about fasting, but I stayed on track with a fast of 17 minutes 42.

Saturday/Sunday (December 26 & 27): My Boxing Day fast began at exactly 3:42 p.m. after today’s sole meal. I had half a protein bar 2 hours and twelve minutes later, so I restarted the clock. I broke that fast with a rare homecooked meal. I need to cook more.

Sunday/Monday (December 27 & 28): I had just that one meal today, and the fasting clock began at the completion of that meal at exactly 2:09 p.m. Breakfast just after 11 a.m. broke a fast of almost 21 hours.

Monday/Tuesday (December 28 & 29): I started my fast soon after breakfast, but I decided later in the evening to eat a small meal – not because I was particularly hungry, but because I was happy with recent fasts and felt like my body could use a little extra food. The fasting clock started just after 6 p.m., and it ended 18 hours and 23 minutes later.

Tuesday/Wednesday (December 29 & 30): Like yesterday, I ate a second smaller meal later in the day. The fasting clock started at 4:50 p.m. The fast ended 19 hours later, and it was another surprisingly easy one. Is that a good thing, or have I lost my appetite? – and that might not be a good thing.

Wednesday/Thursday (December 30 & 31): I stopped consuming calories at 2:05 p.m. and began consuming them 23.25 hours later, and that ends my final complete fast for 2020.

Thursday, December 31: I started the fasting clock at 1:36 p.m., but I may restart it later depending on how the rest of the day progresses. Either way, I got back on track with my fasting this month, ending it with an average fast of 20 hours and 25 minutes. Yes, I did eat a little, but the fasting clock still started fairly early at 3:15 p.m., and with no plans to go out tonight because of Covid and the freezing weather, that should be it for 2020.
