{"id":150,"date":"2010-11-30T08:27:07","date_gmt":"2010-11-29T23:27:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/home\/?p=150"},"modified":"2015-03-22T08:31:06","modified_gmt":"2015-03-21T23:31:06","slug":"november-2010-fitness-diary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peterdaley.net\/home\/november-2010-fitness-diary\/","title":{"rendered":"November 2010 Fitness Diary!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\"><strong>Tuesday, November 2:<\/strong> I started the month a day late with 20 kilometers on my exercise bike in the evening after work with\u00a0a season 1 episode of <em>Star Trek DS9<\/em> to help pass the time:<!--more--><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/Fitness%202010\/20101102.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, November 4:<\/strong> I had to drag myself to the gym after work and I almost didn&#8217;t make it. (long few days). But I did go and I managed to get in a\u00a0quite intense\u00a0workout that\u00a0consisted of exercises for my upper back, lats, traps, biceps, forearms, abs, lower abs, sides, and lower back. And I walked to work today and home again after class.\u00a0Walking is a\u00a0much more pleasant way to travel than my motorbike which quite frankly makes me\u00a0nervous.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday,\u00a0November\u00a05:<\/strong>\u00a0Twenty-five kilometers on my exercise bike while watching the latest episodes of <em>The Office<\/em> and <em>Fringe:<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/Fitness%202010\/20101105.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, November 6: <\/strong>Just under 4.5 kilometers on the treadmill (the treadmills at the gym automatically shut down after 40 minutes) and then a great leg workout consisting of presses, extensions, curls, inner thigh exercises, and calfs.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/Fitness%202010\/20101106.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, November 7:<\/strong> Another gym session today, this time chest, shoulders, and triceps. And I ended with a light 3 kilometers on the treadmill &#8211; I didn&#8217;t want to tax my legs too much after yesterday&#8217;s workout:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/Fitness%202010\/20101107.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, Pepero Day:<\/strong> OOps, it&#8217;s Thursday already and I haven&#8217;t exercised since Sunday. I&#8217;m hoping to go to the gym this evening&#8230;.And I did indeed make it to the gym as promised. A very solid and sweaty 4 kilometers on the treadmill up a steeper than usual incline preceded by an equally solid weights session: upper back, traps, lats, biceps, sides and abs:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/Fitness%202010\/20101111.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, November 13:<\/strong> I made it to the gym in the late afternoon despite feeling a cold coming on. My mouth felt unusually dry all day &#8211; hope it\u00a0doesn&#8217;t last.\u00a0\u00a0But I exercised anyway and had a pretty decent workout both cardio-wise (3.5 km on the treadmill) and strength-wise with exercises for chest, shoulders, triceps, lower back, hamstrings, and calves&#8230;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/Fitness%202010\/20101113.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, November 20:<\/strong> Important announcement:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/sick.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, November 21:<\/strong> Finally felt well enough to exercise and it felt great to be sweating from exertion rather than from\u00a0some stupid\u00a0yucky flu. Straight back into the weights as though I hadn&#8217;t been sick with exercises for my back, traps, lats, biceps, forearms, abs, sides, lower back, hamstrings, and calves. My only concession to my recent ill health was a shorter and slower treadmill session:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/Fitness%202010\/20101121.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, November 25:<\/strong> Fifteen kilometers on my exercise bike while watching a season\u00a04\u00a0opener of <em>Star Trek DS9.<\/em> The Klingons invaded Cardassia. There&#8217;s nothing like a fictitious war story to take your mind off the chance of a real war on the Korean Peninsula.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/Fitness%202010\/20101125.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, November 27:<\/strong> Back in the gym for the first time since last weekend. I haven&#8217;t been exercising as much of late, but I hope to be back into my regular routine (cardio every two days) by the middle of next week. 3.5 kilometers on the treadmill (which i really needed!) and a pretty solid chest, shoulders, triceps, abs, sides, and calves workout:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/Fitness%202010\/20101127-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, November 30:<\/strong> I ended the rather disruptive month of November with 15 kilometers on my exercise bike:<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/i827.photobucket.com\/albums\/zz192\/CaptPorridge2\/Fitness%202010\/20101130.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Illness and a busier month both work and study wise hampered November&#8217;s fitness campaign. A total of ten cardio sessions for the month &#8211;\u00a0on average one every three days, which is well down from my normal average of one cardio session every two days. December&#8217;s campaign kicks off tomorrow morning. I really must get that cardio session average back up, and I must eat better to. I always aim to do that, but it never happens.
