I left home later than planned and had no time for any exercise beyond those ten minutes:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/01.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"450\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, September 2:\u00a0<\/strong>A weights session that almost didn&#8217;t happen. I arrived at the gym feeling tired, so I read for about an hour, and that didn&#8217;t help at all. I summoned all my strength and made it to the weights area for a solid core and legs workout. Cardio is on tomorrow&#8217;s menu.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, September 3: <\/strong>Two steep treadmill sessions. With a presentation to give about cults soon afterwards, the treadmill sessions were\u00a0necessarily\u00a0short, but that isn&#8217;t to say they weren&#8217;t intense; they most definitely were &#8211; by my standards anyway:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/02.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"433\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, September 4: <\/strong>Two cardio sessions again. This time a faster run followed by a super-steep walk:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/03.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"457\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, September 5:<\/strong> A late-night weights session: back, lats, biceps inner forearms, core, and calves. <del>The plan is to get up super early and get in a super early cardio session. I give that plan a 20% chance of success.<\/del><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Tuesday, September 6:<\/strong> Having exercised the previous 8 days, I decided I was owed a day off by The Universe. The Universe heard me and granted my wish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, September 7: <\/strong>Two short cardio sessions just before band practice: the first was a ten-minute run, the second was a four-minute climb:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/04.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"477\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, September 8: <\/strong>Weights and cardio were on the menu this evening: chest, shoulders, traps, triceps, calves, and forearms followed by a 12-minute super-steep treadmill session.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/05.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"424\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, September 9:<\/strong> Just cardio today:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/06.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"448\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, September 10: <\/strong>An exhausting legs and core workout followed a yummy and quite healthy lunch. I&#8217;m having a wee writing and reading rest at my gym before a planned short and sharp treadmill session. An 11-minute steep trek was the result:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/07.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"453\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Sunday, September 11:\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Nothing to report.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Monday, September 12:\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Ditto. And that&#8217;s the first time in about 6 weeks I&#8217;ve gone two days without exercising.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, September 13: <\/strong>Back on my favorite treadmill:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/08.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"463\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, September 14:<\/strong> A 34-minute weights session (back, lats, traps, biceps, lower back, and legs) was followed by a steep 10-minute treadmill session:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/09.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"457\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Thursday, September 15:<\/strong><\/span> <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Lots of writing and, apart from a wee late night walk, no exercise to speak of. The gym was closed, and I was rather busy, so the blame is not mine.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, September 16:<\/strong> Weights: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, and core. Just as I lay on the bench for my first benchpress, I thought to myself, &#8220;This is a nice place for a nap.&#8221; I could have napped, but despite those lazy thoughts and a feeling of lethargy, the following workout was pretty intense. No treadmill session due to a possible slightly strained calf.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, September 17: <\/strong>Calf feels fine, but I woke during the night with the beginnings of a sore throat and a slight headache. Hence, I took it a little slower on the treadmill. I hope the bug I felt is just a 24-hour thing. Fingers crossed.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/10.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"484\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, September 18:<\/strong> Still a dull headache and somewhat of a sore a throat, but I felt fine apart from those two non-life-threatening symptoms. Just weights: core and legs.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Monday, September 19:<\/strong> I almost went to the gym in the evening, but some work and some cult shenanigans kept me away.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, September 20:<\/strong> I was all set when I left work to simply go home and take a long dream-filled nap. My cold symptoms haven&#8217;t worsened, but they are still hanging around. And then I steeled myself and walked to the gym. A 21-minute treadmill session was the result of my courageous decision.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/11.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"459\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, September 21:<\/strong>\u00a0Cardio again!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/12.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"451\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, September 22:<\/strong> Another short cardio due to poor time management skills.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/13.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"427\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, September 23: <\/strong>A very lackluster back, biceps, lats, legs, and lower back workout due to an inexplicable ab soreness. Did I play guitar for too long last night?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, September 24: <\/strong>A short cardio session due to a serious lack of time.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/14.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"421\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Sunday, September 25:<\/strong> My gym was closed, but I was too busy to exercise anyway.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, September 26:<\/strong> A nice steady 21-minute exercise before class to begin the working week.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/15.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"429\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, September 27:\u00a0<\/strong>Another treadmill session:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/16.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"456\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, September 28:\u00a0<\/strong>Another treadmill session:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2016\/09\/17.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"426\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>Thursday, September 29:\u00a0<\/strong>My planned gym session was replaced at the last minute by a trip to the hospital. Last week&#8217;s ab strain came back to haunt me in a big way!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Friday, September 30:\u00a0<\/strong>Thankfully, my ab injury only hurts when I cough, sneeze, laugh, or try to move too much when lying down. Hence, a cardio session was doable.
