{"id":671,"date":"2007-01-15T00:31:40","date_gmt":"2007-01-14T15:31:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/home\/?p=671"},"modified":"2015-04-14T11:19:26","modified_gmt":"2015-04-14T02:19:26","slug":"a-montage-of-student-presentations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/peterdaley.net\/home\/a-montage-of-student-presentations\/","title":{"rendered":"A Montage of Student Presentations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\">I made this video in 2007 to inform my students of the <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/kemmys.googlepages.com\/\" target=\"\">Kemmys Presentation Competition<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/XIbi8PJG7fY&amp;hl=en&amp;fs=1&amp;\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" width=\"640\" height=\"320\"><\/embed><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">My hope was\u00a0that\u00a0it would inspire them\u00a0(or at least give them some ideas) for their own presentations and perhaps help them win the Kemmys and a trip to Australia.<!--more--> I chose the song &#8220;Good Enough&#8221; by the British band Dodgy because\u00a0its chorus\u00a0helps convey to students that if they\u00a0put in\u00a0some effort,\u00a0they will receive a good score regardless of their language ability. As the song says: if it&#8217;s good enough for you, it&#8217;s good enough for me. Appearing in the video are students from my 2006 semester 1 and 2 classes.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0I used <a class=\"\" href=\"http:\/\/www.outerspace-software.com\/bixphotobook.html\" target=\"\">Bix&#8217;s Photo Book <\/a>software to create this video.\u00a0It&#8217;s cheap and easy to use and also quite fun.
