No gym sessions yet, but I walked 11 kilometers today if that counts.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, May 4: <\/strong>I celebrated Star Wars day with my first gym session of the month: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, sides, lower back, and a 13-minute run. Some new Star Wars music accompanied me on the run.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2019\/05\/01.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"407\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, May 6: <\/strong>A 47-minute workout a couple of hours after breakfast: back, lats, traps, biceps, forearms, lower back, calves, and one set of side extensions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, May 7: <\/strong>No gym today, but I walked a total of 13 kilometers, most of them in the evening.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, May 8: <\/strong>A 20-minute morning treadmill run was followed by some weightless squats and leg extensions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2019\/05\/02.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"429\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, May 10: <\/strong>I was short of time, so I just did weights for about 30 minutes: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, and lower back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, May 11:<\/strong> Back in the gym, this time for\u00a0 47-minute workout: back, lats, biceps, forearms, calves, and hamstrings.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, May 13: <\/strong>My planned morning cardio session was shelved until after work. Instead, I did one set of side raises and 33 push-ups. I almost skipped the gym, but I made it there in the evening for a rare evening cardio session. It was a pretty long one, too (30 minutes and just over 6.2 kilometers). I also did a set of side extensions and lower back raises plus some weightless squats and leg extensions after my run.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2019\/05\/03.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"468\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, May 14:\u00a0<\/strong> An hour of weights was today&#8217;s exercise: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, sides, lower back, calves, hamstrings, and forearms.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, May 15:<\/strong> No gym today, and that was planned. I did, however, walk 14.6 kilometers, most of them in the evening long after I had last eaten.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, May 17: <\/strong>Weights again late in the afternoon: back, lats, traps, biceps, forearms, hamstrings, calves, sides, and lower back.\u00a0 All that took exactly 53 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, May 18: <\/strong>Back in the gym in the morning despite not eating since well before yesterday&#8217;s workout. Today&#8217;s workout was shorter as a result, but I still had plenty of energy. A ten-minute treadmill run was preceded and followed by squats and leg extensions.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2019\/05\/04.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"435\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, May 19:<\/strong> No gym today, but I did walk about 16 kilometers throughout the day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, May 20: <\/strong>An hour of weights after work and before the final Game of Thrones episode: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, sides, calves, hamstrings, and forearms. My chest and forearms were the most and I expect they&#8217;ll be very very sore soon.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, May 21: <\/strong>Well, I didn&#8217;t feel quite as sore today as I had expected, but that&#8217;s OK. I didn&#8217;t make it to the gym, but I did walk a little over 12 kilometers.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, May 22:<\/strong> Just enough time for a 15-minute run.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2019\/05\/05.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"434\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, May 24:<\/strong> I began the day with a quick home workout: sides, lower back, and 33 push ups. Later in the day, an hour of weights: back, lats, traps, biceps. forearms, calves, hamstrings, another set of push ups, and more sides and lower back exercises.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, May 25: <\/strong>Just 26 minutes of weights today as that&#8217;s all I had time for: chest, shoulders, triceps, and a little more traps.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, May 27:<\/strong> An 11-minute run was followed by some weights: thighs, hamstrings, calves, sides, and lower back.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2019\/05\/06.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"496\" \/><\/p>\n<p>That was it for the month.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Friday, May 3: The month got off to a slow start.
