It&#8217;s now less than two weeks until my next half marathon, <a href=\"http:\/\/give.fivetwo.org\/r4r\/fundraisers\/Running-to-Help-Defectors-Escape-t\">and this time it&#8217;s for a good cause!\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/01.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"518\" \/><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, June 2: <\/strong>My first decent weights workout in a while (chest, shoulders, traps, triceps, lower back, sides to a lesser extent, and calves). And since it&#8217;s half marathon month, I jumped on the treadmill for a short but steep climb:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/02.jpg\" width=\"243\" height=\"432\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, June 3: <\/strong>A faster run to test out the legs. The test was successful.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/03.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"452\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, June 4:\u00a0<\/strong>I surprisingly made it to the gym after a long day of teaching, prepping, marking, volunteering, and eating. Ten minutes before I arrived at the gym, I gave myself zero chance of exercising. Fortunately, the gym is on my way home, and a sudden surge of motivation saw me walk in. A pre-exercise shower helped clear the tired cobwebs and put me in the right frame of mind. The workout that followed was my hardest back workout in quite a while: back, lats, biceps, and forearms. 35 minutes all up.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, June 5: <\/strong>Just cardio today.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/04.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"426\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, June 6:<\/strong> Leg extensions, leg presses, hamstring curls, inner thigh things, one set of calf raises, and an uphill treadmill session on very tired legs!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/05.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"466\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday, June 7: <\/strong>Chest, shoulders, triceps, sides, and calves. I had intended to finish with another short, steep cardio session, but when push came to shove, I went chickened out.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, June 8:<\/strong> Just cardio tonight as Sunday&#8217;s half marathon draws closer:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/06.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"444\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A wee cold and some unplanned diversions with nutty Christians got in the way of exercising for a few days. In other news, Sunday&#8217;s marathon was postponed until mid-July.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, June 12:<\/strong> A short back, lats, and biceps session to help me get back into training. The cold that began developing a few days ago thankfully wasn&#8217;t MERS.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, June 13: <\/strong>A long crosstrainer session while watching <em>White House Down<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/07.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"420\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, June 15:<\/strong> An afternoon chest, shoulders, traps, and triceps session ahead of the season finale of <em>A Game of Thrones<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, June 16: <\/strong>A longer cardio session in the evening:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/08.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"472\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, June 20:<\/strong> Back, biceps, lats, forearms, calves, and a brief, steep treadmill session:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/09.jpg\" width=\"246\" height=\"443\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday, June 22:<\/strong> Only time for a late night short cardio session today:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/10.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"437\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday, June 24:<\/strong> I&#8217;m due for a chest and shoulders workout, but I skipped that for a 23-minute cardio session:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/11.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"505\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday, June 26:<\/strong> A longer treadmill session after a long day teaching, recording audio, and finalizing students&#8217; grades:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/12.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"431\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday, June 27: <\/strong>An overdue weights session: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, sides, lower back, and calves.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday, June 30: <\/strong>June ended with a late-night cardio session:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2015\/06\/13.jpg\" width=\"251\" height=\"460\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Monday, June 1: A cardio workout to start the month.
