I sailed past the 24-hour mark for the first time in a while and eventually broke my fast after 25.5 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/196.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"199\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday\/Thursday (Decmber 2 &amp; 3): <\/strong>The fasting clock began 12 minutes before noon. It&#8217;s now 9.5 hours later, and I just returned home from a quick evening workout. My fast continued until morning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/197.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"194\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday\/Friday (December 3 &amp; 4): <\/strong>Another early start to fasting with a 10:25 a.m. start. Twenty-three hours later, I ate.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/198.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday\/Saturday (December 4 &amp; 5): <\/strong>The fasting clock started at 10:30 a.m. after the day&#8217;s one meal, and another longer fast ensued.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/199.png\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday\/Sunday (December 5 &amp; 6):\u00a0<\/strong> Another one-meal day is on the cards as the fasting clock began at 12:22 p.m. I cheated a little with a small snickers bar a few hours after a pretty intense weights session.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/200.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"192\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday\/Monday (December 6 &amp; 7): <\/strong>The fasting clock began again at 11:30 a.m., but that proved too early and I ate again in the evening. The resulting fast was still satisfactory at a touch over 17 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/201.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"199\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday\/Tuesday (December 7 &amp; 8): <\/strong>Today&#8217;s fast started at 12:44 p.m., I went to the gym in the evening, and then by the time I started breakfast, 20 hours had passed since I had last eaten.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/202.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"188\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday\/Wednesday (Decemeber 8 &amp; 9): <\/strong>On Tuesday, I finished eating for the day at 11:55 a.m. However, I ate again in the early evening, and my fast started for the second time today at 5:52 p.m. Breakfast was begun at 12:14 on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/203.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday\/Thursday (December 9 &amp; 10): <\/strong>My next fast started late due to an evening meal that was gone by just after 8 p.m. The resulting fast was a pretty easy one at 16 hours and 46 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/204.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"198\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday\/Friday (December 10 &amp; 11):<\/strong> Today&#8217;s fast began just as my last Thursday classes were beginning at 1:33 p.m.\u00a0 I made it through the night and then I ran a few errands in the morning which helped go past 22.5 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/205.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"197\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday\/Saturday (December\u00a0 11 &amp; 12): <\/strong>My next fast started at 2:02 p.m. and the current plan is to not eat until tomorrow&#8217;s free lunch at work. I didn&#8217;t last that long, but I was happy with my fast as the evening included a weights session at home. I broke my fast with a protein shake before heading out to work.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/206.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"202\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday\/Sunday (December 12 &amp; 13): <\/strong>This fast wasn&#8217;t really a fast as I snacked a little late at night, so I&#8217;ll this fast is cancelled.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday\/Monday (December 13 &amp; 14): <\/strong>I stopped eating for the day at 4:10 p.m. and made it past my morning checkup. Breakfast, which was a huge omlette with a pancake, was my only meal of the day, and it was a big one! The first bite of which ended a fast of 18 hours and 7 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/207.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"177\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday\/Tuesday (December 14 &amp; 15): <\/strong>I just finished my second latte at the pancake place, and I feel very full. The time is 11:07 a.m. and the fasting clock just began again. I changed my mind and had a protein smoothie a couple of hours later. The fasting clock began again at 1:06 p.m. Another 24hr+ fast was accomplished quite easily due to a lazy morning. Weights last night ensured I burned calories before bed, so overall I&#8217;m very satsified with this fast of 24 hours and 19 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/208.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"196\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday\/Wednesday (December 15 &amp; 16): <\/strong>The plan is to make today a one-meal day, and I therefore started the fasting clock after completing breakfast at 1:55 p.m. Like yesterday, I restarted the fasting clock after a protein smoothie. I began breakfast 18 hours later.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/209.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"197\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday\/Thursday (December 16 &amp; 17): <\/strong>My fast started in the early afternoon, and I was on track for another longish fast. But a migraine blindsided me, and at 1:30 a.m., I went outside to buy some Tylenol from my local convenience store. It was the worst headache I&#8217;ve had in a long while, and I thought some food couldn&#8217;t hurt and might even help on the off chance my migraine was triggered by my fasting. So the fast was cancelled, but I&#8217;m ok as I really didn&#8217;t have much choice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday\/Friday (December 17 &amp; 18): <\/strong>I had cereal for breakfast at around 10:30 a.m. and then lunch around 4 p.m. The fasting clock began at 4:11 p.m., and since I have a medical check-up tomorrow morning, eating tonight is strictly forbidden. Well, I could eat later &#8211; I just have to fast for at least eight hours before my 11 a.m. appointment, but I&#8217;ll stay the course. I almost made it to 22 hours, so that&#8217;s a success. And I need to do more of that as the doc told me to get back down to 80 kg.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/210.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"199\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Friday\/Saturday (December 18 &amp; 19): <\/strong>My next fast started at 3:02 p.m. and lasted a few minutes longer than yesterday&#8217;s. In between calories, I did weights at home on Friday night and I walked 4 km on Saturday morning.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/211.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"199\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday\/Sunday (December 19 &amp; 20): <\/strong>Quite a lot of food in the evening as it was a special occassion. The fasting clock started later at 8:39 p.m. to be precise, but I still managed to complete a successful fast.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/212.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"205\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday\/Monday (December 20 &amp; 21): <\/strong>Another instance of starting the fasting a clock a second time at night. This time the clock started at 9:17 p.m. It&#8217;s now 15 hours later, and I&#8217;m sipping a coffee with a splash of milk at home. I broke my fast after a rare campus visit, ending a fast of 17:40.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/213.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday\/Tuesday (December 21 &amp; 22): <\/strong>Monday was just a one-meal day and the fasting clock started at 3:15 p.m. The resulting fast was surprisingly easy, and I oddly felt a little bloated around the 19-hour mark. Breakfast at McDonald&#8217;s broke a fast of 21 hours and four minutes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/214.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"205\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday\/Wednesday (December 22 &amp; 24):<\/strong> I had a lightish dinner of coconut soup and some bread, and the fasting clock started at 5:20 p.m. Breakfast was begun 20 hours and 10 minutes later.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/215.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"200\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday\/Thursday (December 23 &amp; 24): <\/strong>My next fast began at 2:03 p.m. and it was not a pure one as I had a protein yogurt drink at night. It was still a pretty long fast though at 22.25 hours.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/216.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"177\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Xmas Eve\/Xmas: <\/strong>Nothing much happening since this is a Covid Christmas, so my fasting was not interupted by feasting. My fast started at 2:40 p.m. It&#8217;s now 9:15 p.m., and I feel pretty good. I don&#8217;t think I&#8217;ll be tempted to eat before sleep calls. It&#8217;s Christmas morning, and I just passed the 18.5 hour mark. I exercised before bed and I exercised before breakfast, so I think I burned a good amount of fat. Breakfast broke a fast &#8211; as the word suggests &#8211; of 21 hours and 12 minutes.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/217.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"201\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Xmas\/Saturday (December 26): <\/strong>My Christmas fast began later at 9:20 p.m. after a home cooked Christmas feast. Normally, Christmas time is a time for forgetting all about fasting, but I stayed on track with a fast of 17 minutes 42.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/218.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"201\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Saturday\/Sunday (December 26 &amp; 27): <\/strong>My Boxing Day fast began at exactly 3:42 p.m. after today&#8217;s sole meal. I had half a protein bar 2 hours and twelve minutes later, so I restarted the clock. I broke that fast with a rare homecooked meal. I need to cook more.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/219.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"203\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Sunday\/Monday (December 27 &amp; 28): <\/strong>I had just that one meal today, and the fasting clock began at the completion of that meal at exactly 2:09 p.m. Breakfast just after 11 a.m. broke a fast of almost 21 hours.<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/220.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"203\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Monday\/Tuesday (December 28 &amp; 29): <\/strong>I started my fast soon after breakfast, but I decided later in the evening to eat a small meal &#8211; not because I was particularly hungry, but because I was happy with recent fasts and felt like my body could use a little extra food. The fasting clock started just after 6 p.m., and it ended 18 hours and 23 minutes later.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/221.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"203\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tuesday\/Wednesday (December 29 &amp; 30):<\/strong> Like yesterday, I ate a second smaller meal later in the day. The fasting clock started at 4:50 p.m. The fast ended 19 hours later, and it was another surprisingly easy one. Is that a good thing, or have I lost my appetite? &#8211; and that might not be a good thing.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/222.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"206\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Wednesday\/Thursday (December 30 &amp; 31): <\/strong>I stopped consuming calories at 2:05 p.m. and began consuming them 23.25 hours later, and that ends my final complete fast for 2020.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full aligncenter\" src=\"http:\/\/peterdaley.net\/images\/fitness\/2020fasting\/223.png\" width=\"200\" height=\"198\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Thursday, December 31: <\/strong>I started the fasting clock at 1:36 p.m., but I may restart it later depending on how the rest of the day progresses. Either way, I got back on track with my fasting this month, ending it with an average fast of 20 hours and 25 minutes.
