The Korean Professor Who Force Fed His Students....

I'm rarely surprised by disturbing acts of dominance and compliance, but this is a story I had to read twice to make sure I didn't read it wrong:

Earlier in November last year, a district court sentenced Jang to 12 years in prison, adding two years more than what the prosecution demanded, saying "the unimaginable atrocities he committed were no less than a sort of psychological murder of the victim."

However, in May, the Seoul High Court reduced the sentence to eight years after taking into consideration the settlement reached between the victim and the perpetrator. In a petition filed by Jeon two months earlier in March, he said he would not want harsh punishment of Jang, following a repeated apology offered by Jang's family members who sought forgiveness after fully admitting to his wrongdoing.
