The year 2014, my busiest ever as an amateur cult watcher, officially ended at the first annual Korean Blog Awards with a fun-filled night of networking and beering with friends old and new. You can read more about that night and my reflections on all the cultic events of 2014 right here.

On Sunday, October 25, I took my first official Korean language test – the Basic KLPT (Korean Language Proficiency Test). Over hundred people signed up for the intermediate test, which I hope to take next April, but as you cane see from the picture below, I took the basic test all alone:
Update November 29: I received my results, and my score was 80% overall which was pretty much what I was expecting. I have a Japanese test next week (December 6), and then I hope to start studying Korean again for the next test in April.
