April 2024 Fitness Diary!

Monday. April 1: No gym as it was a pretty long work day., so just a decent amount of walking instead: 18,886 steps/14.5 km.

Tuesday, April 2: Another day like yesterday, except with less work: 16,022 steps/12.1km.

Wednesday, April 3: My first gym session of the month included: chest, shoulders, tricep, traps, leg extensions, and glutes (G1). My steps for the day: 22,455 steps/16.7 km.

Thurday, April 4: Back in the gym, taking advantage of my usual late start on Thursdays: hamstrings, inner thighs, calves, and my entire core (G2). And a little less walking: 14,440 steps/10.6 km.

Friday, April 5: A short weights session in the afternoon: back, lats, biceps, and I think I also did calves (G3). My steps for the day: 16,689/12.3 km.

Saturday, April 6: An evening workout: chest, shoulders, traps, calves, hamstrings, and inner thighs (G4). And today’s steps: 16,739/12.6 km.

Sunday, April 7:  Another pretty short workout: triceps, biceps, leg extensions, and glutes (G5). And my steps for the day: 12,773/9.84 km.

Monday, April 8: I enjoyed a lazy nap-filled eveing at home instead of a gym session. My steps for the day: 13,984/10.7 km.

Tuesday, April 9: Back in the gym for legs and core (G5). And my steps for the day: 12,673/9.66 km.

Wednesday, April 10: A nice short, sharp workout: chest, shoulders, and traps (G6). And my total steps for the day: 20,754/14.9 km.

Thursday, April 11: No time for the gym today as both my Thursday classes were jammed packed with assessment tasks. My steps for the day: 25,010/18.8 km.

Friday, April 12: Another workout, but I really should have done more work: lats, back, biceps, hamstrings, inner thighs, and calves (G7). And my steps for the day: 14,758/10.7 km.

Saturday, April 13: An evening short workout: chest, triceps, thighs and glutes (G8). And my steps for the day: 17,709/13.4 km.

Sunday, April 14: A different in the evening when I have to admit I didn’t really feel like exercising, but I was later glad that I did: biceps, forearms, hamstrings, inner thighs, and traps (G9). And my steps for the day: 17,505/13.4 km.

Monday, April 15: No gym as my students’ fist major discussions continued. My steps for today: 15,001/11.4 km.

Tuesday, April 16: I should have gone to the gym after class, but I didn’t. Today’s steps: 15,183/11.4 km.

Wednesday. April 17: I really need to go to the gym today.  Wednesday’s steps: 16,464/12.5 km.

Thursday, April 18: Same again: 12,218 steps/9.19 km.

Friday, April 19: Finally back in my gym, and I really needed this: leg extensions, glutes, hamstrings, calves, back, lats, and biceps (G10). And my steps for the day: 14,839/11.2 km.

Saturday, April 20: Another gym session: chest, shoulders, and triceps (G11). And my steps for the day: 13,446/10.1 km.

Sunday, April 21: Well, yesterday’s workout aggrivated a slight strain of a small muscle around my left collar bone, so I’ll have to be more careful until that heals. Hence just more walking: 11,793 steps/9.12 km.  

Monday, April 22: More walking after a busy day: 13,389 steps/10.4 km.

Tuesday, April 23:  Despite getting up before 5 am to catch up on some grading, I made it to the gym in the evening. My shoulder is off limits for the time being, so my workout involved thighs, hamstrings, inner thighs, calves, and lower back (G12). And my steps for the day: 16,263/12.6 km.

Wednesday, April 24:  More walking after a busy day: 16,789 steps/12.7 km.

Thursday, April 25: More walking as I continue to give my shoulder a rest: 16,527 steps/12.5 km.

Friday, April 26: Still resting my shoulder, so just some walking: 15,461 steps/11.7 km.

Saturday, April 27: Back in the gym but I’m still avoiding using my shoulder, which almost feels back to normal: leg extensions, glutes, hamstrings, inner thighs, and just a set each of side and lower back extensions (G13). And my steps for the day:10,955/8.56 km.

Sunday, April 28:  Another gym session: triceps, biceps, and forearms. I did some shoulder raises and and a few other upper body exercises – just one set with light weights (G14), but my shoulder isn’t quite ready yet for intense exercise. A lot of walking: 22,404 steps/15.7 km.

Monday, April 29: Those light exercises aggrivated my shoulder injury just a little, and with wrapping up student scores and feedback, I was too tired to make it to the gym. My steps for the day: 14,912/11.3 km

Tuesday, April 30: April ended with a wimper with just some more walking: 15,754 steps/11.9 km.
