December 2024 Fitness Diary!

Sunday, December 1: A final workout in my favorite and only gym: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, legs, and a plank (W1). And my steps for the day: 16,906/13.1 km.

Monday, December 2: An evening workout after a pretty long day at work: back, lats, biceps, calves, and core (W2). And my steps for the day: 19,289/14.5 km.

Tuesday, December 3: Just some walking: 19,193 steps/14.4 km.

Wednesday, December 4: As above: 13,497 steps/10.3 km.

Thursday, December 5: In between my classes and covering for a sick co-colleague’s evening classes, I hit my gym for a massive workout: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, forearms, core, and calves (W3). And my steps for the day: 19,848/15 km.

Friday, December 6: More walking: 15,387 steps/11.5 km.

Saturday, December 7: Back in the gym in the early evening: legs, traps, and core (W4). And my steps for the day: 17,223/13.1 km.

Sunday, December 8: Just some walking: 13,189 steps/10.4 km.

Monday, December 9: As above: 17,699 steps/13.4 km.

Tuesday, December 10: As above again: 11,801 steps/8.97 km.

Wednesday, December 11: A return to my gym for a workout that left me pretty exhausted: leg extensions, some weightless squats, hamstrings, calves, butt, back, lats, biceps, traps, lower back, a plank, and a set of push-ups (W5). And my steps for the day: 20,691 steps/15.4 km.

Thursday, December 12: Another gym session: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, and obliques (W6). And my steps for the day: 23,516/17.9 km.

Friday, December 13: Just some walking: 17,477 steps/13.2 km.

Saturday, December 14: And some more walking: 21,104 steps/15.7 km.

Sunday, December 15: A huge evening workout lasted 1 hour and 13 minutes and left me really feeling it. I worked every body part except chest, shoulders, and triceps (W7). And actually, my chest got a little workout with a set of push-ups following a plank. And my steps for the day: 15,265/11.9 km.

Monday, December 16: At the gym, I exercised my other muscles, but I changed my usual order for some variety: triceps, shoulders, chest, triceps, and a plank (W8). And my steps for the day: 19,049/14.6 km.

Tuesday, December 17: Just some walking: 11,488 steps/8.85 km.

Wednesday, December 18: Another most-bdy workout: every body part except chest, shoulders, triceps, and forearms, but I again did a set of push-ups following a plank (W9). And my steps for the day: 18,995/14.2 km.

Thursday, December 19: Just some walking as the grading of final presentations continued: 14,917 steps/11.5 km.

Friday, December 20: An evening weights session: shoulders, chest, traps, chest, core, calves, and forearms (W10). And my steps for the day:

Saturday, December 21: I skipped the gym today, opting to get a lot of work done instead – and that kind of actually happened, much to my surprise. So today’s exercise was just my usual walking around listening to music and reflecting on my life’s past, present, and imagined futures: 14,492 steps/11.3 km.

Sunday, December 22: A night gym session starting at 7:50 PM almost didn’t happen due to the cold winter night and my bed being warm and snuggly: legs and core (W11), but there is a lot contained in those two words. And my steps for the day: 14,879/11.4 km.

Monday, December 23:  As I type this just after 3 PM and the end of my first winter intensive class, I’m planning to hit my gym at around 7 PMish.  The gym session didn’t happen, alas. And my steps for the day: 12,799/9.6 km.

Tuesday, December 24: Some walking after class: 15,012 steps/11.3 km.

Wednesday, December 25 (Xmas!): An evening Christmas workout: back, lats, traps, biceps, calves, and core (W12). And also some Christmas walking listening to some John Williams’ Christmasy music: 14,661 steps/11.1 km.

Thursday, December 26: Just some walking as prepping for my winter class is taking up more time that I had expected: 14,209 steps/11.1 km.

Friday, December 27: Back in the gym as the last weekend of 2024 gets underway: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, calves, forearms, and a little core work (W13). And my steps for the day: 19,413/14.5 km.

Saturday, December 28: An evening gym session: leg extensions, hamstrings, and glutes (W14). And my steps for the day: 13,012/9.95 km.

Sunday, December 29: Another evening gym session: back, lats, biceps, lower back, and a plank (W15).And my usual walking around the neighborhood: 15,657 steps/12.2 km.

Monday, December 30: I skipped the gym for some evening walking: 17,107 steps/13.3 km. 

Tuesday, December 31: I ended the year pretty casually with just some walking: 16,456 steps/12.6 km.
