June 2024 Fitness Diary!

Monday, June 1: After May ended lacklusterly, I started the month with a visit to my local and favorite gym: chest, shoulders, traps, and legs (G1). And my steps for the day: 12,525/9.67 km.

Sunday, June 9: No gym, but a lot of walking was done, and I bought a sturdier backpack more suitable for rucking. I usually walk with some weight on my back – textbooks for my classes, water, my MacBook etc, but I’ll be doing more walking with a heavier backpack. My steps for the day: 23,206/18.1 km.

Monday, June 10: I did a 25-minute walk in the morning carrying about 9.5 km in my new backpack. Not the most comfortable of walk because of that weight and how it felt on my traps, but walking to later with the usual amount of weight (MacBook, textbooks, Kindle, and water), my new backpack feels more comfortable than my older one. Looking ahead, I might try just a few weighted walks a week. I did a gym workout at night: core, chest, and triceps (G6), and my total steps for the day: 18,162/14.1 km.

Tuesday, June 11: Just some walking, mostly in the morning: 17,570 steps/12.7 km, and with summer well and truely here, I will be henceforth avoiding walking during the middle of the day. Instead, I’ll aim for early morning, evening, and night walks.

Wednesday, June 12: A gym session after work: shoulders, forearms, and calves (G7)And my steps for the day: 14,800/11.5 km.

Thursday, June 13: A morning walk ended with me getting new reading glasses. I didn’t really use my previous – and first ever – pair that much, but I need them these days, and my first pair were no longer perfect for my eyes.  My steps for the day: 19,773/15 km

Friday, June 14: Just more walking,  most of it at night exceot for the steps necessary to get me to work and back home n the morning: 14,677 steps/11.7 km,

Wednesday, June 26: Just some more walking: 12,309 steps/9.15 km.

Thursday, June 27: Less walking, and I’ve decided to scale back on my walking for perhaps about a week as I think I might have shin splints on my right shin. And besides, I’ll be busy over the next week with my intensive classes. My total steps: 6,710/5.1 km.

Friday, June 28: I cut back on my walking today and didn’t make it to the gym as I had planned: 7,651 steps/5.5 km.

Saturday, June 29: Well, my gym has seated exercise bikes – who know? So, well into I think my third annual membership, I jumped on one for about eleven minutes (10:58/3.24 km C1), and I liked it.
