Wednesday, May 1: Just some walking as I continue to avoid the gym because of a sore left shoulder. Of course, that’s not a reason to avoid the gym per se. 9,916 steps/7.51 km.
Thursday, May 2: As above: 19,141 steps/14.5 km
Friday, May 3: Ditto: 16,082 steps/12.2 km.
Saturday, May 4: More of the same: 11,928 steps/9.02 km.
Sunday, May 5: More of the same again: 14,157 steps/11.2 km.
Monday, May 6: My first gym day of the month: leg extensions, glutes, calves, tricep, and biceps. And some light shoulder movements: side raises, which doesn’t seem to involve the injured part of my shoulder, and some seated rows and some light lat exercises (G1). My steps for the day: 17,849/13.5 km.
Tuesday, May 7: Another gym session in which I carefully and lightly tested out my sore shoulder:hamstrings, inner thighs, sides, lower back, abs – and on the very light side: shoulder raises, rear shoulder raises, shoulder press, seated rows, pull downs and bench presses (G2). And my steps for the day: 17,533/13.8 km.
Wednesday, May 8: Just some walking today: 17,052 steps/12.9 km.
Thursday, May 9: A gym session between classes: leg extenions, glutes, calves, biceps, triceps, core, and still very carefully: shoulders, chest, lats, and back (G3). And my steps for the day: 12,401/9.25 km.
Friday, May 10: Just some walking on a nice relaxing day with almost no work to do once my short morning tutoring session was over: 16,089 steps/12.5 km.
Saturday, May 11: Just some walking on a rainy wet aweful weather day that resulted in me skipping my planned evening walk and potential gym session. I did however, do some light exercises with my exercise bands that I haven’t used for over a year. My steps for the day: 10,828/8.55 km.
Sunday, May 12: Back in the gym, and my shoulder felt much better. I still was careful with chest and back movements, but I still managed a pretty decent and I think safe workout: lats, back, bench presses with just the bar, shoulders, biceps, and triceps (G4). And my steps for the day on a beautiful late spring Sunday: 23,265/17.2 km.
Monday, May 13: Just some walking: 12,542 steps/9.73 km.
Tuesday, May 14: Almost a full body but light workout, and although I’m still be careful of my shoulder, I increased shoulder movement exercises and lived to tell the tale: leg extensions, hamstrings, calves, chest, shoulders, lats, back, biceps. triceps, and core (G5) And my steps for the day: 16,842/12.5 km.
Wednesday, May 15: A jeans and T-shirt gym session as the gym’s clothes were all being washed: leg extensions, glutes, hamstrings, forearms, sides, and lower back, calves, and some light shoulder exercises (G6). And my steps for the day, which were all in the rain: 17,416/13/2 km.
Thursday, May 16: Just some walking both in the morning and after my night class: 13,979 steps/10.8 km.
Friday, May 17: More walking: 20,055 steps/15.3 km.
Saturday, May 18: An evening gym session in which I did more chest and shoulder work – the most since I last aggravated my shoulder injury: chest, shoulders, traps, and triceps (G7). My steps for the day: 12,315/9.6 km.
Sunday, May 19: Some work, cleaning, and walking got in the way of a gym session, but I’m happy to report my shoulder feels about 98%. My steps for the day: 20,684/15.9 km.
Monday, May 20: More walking: 10,241 steps/8.16 km.
Tuesday, May 21: As above: 20,684 steps/15.9 km.
Wednesday, May 22: Ditto: 13,415 steps/10.4 km.
Thursday, May 23: As above again: 16,105 steps/12.3 km.
Friday, May 24: More walking again, but I had a pretty prodictive day:15,344/11.8 km.
Saturday, May 25: Back in the gym after a week -wow. Hopefully, that’ll be the last week break for a long time. And it felt so good to workout again: lats, back, traps, lower back, calves, leg extensions, and glutes (G8). And my shoulder gave me no trouble although it still doesn’t feel quite normal. I should stretch it more. And my steps for the day:
Sunday, May 26: Just walking for the remainder of the month as I was deep into grading: 13,808/10.2 km
Monday, May 27: 14,548 steps/11.3 km.
Tuesday. May 28: 19,196 steps/14.2 km
Wednesday, May 29: 16,329 steps/12.4 km
Thursday. May 30: 14,014 steps/10.6 km.
Friday, May 31: 14,691 steps/11.1 km. And now I need to get back into regular visits to my gym.
