December 2023 Fitness Diary!

Friday, December 1: Just a lot of walking: 21,265/16.2 km.

Saturday, December 2: A lot of walking again: 20, 977 steps/15.4 km, and the month’s first gym session: back, lats, biceps, traps, core, calf raises, hamstring curls, leg extensions and presses, and some hip abductor things (1).

Sunday, December 3: A killer workout in the evening: chest, shoulders, triceps, forearms, traps,  and a little calves, lower back, and abs (2). And my steps for the day: 13,283/10.1 km.

Monday, December 4: Just some walking as I try to wrap up some grading: 13,051 steps/10 km.

Tuesday, December 5: As above: 13,205 steps/10 km.

Wednesday, December 6: I almost made it to the gym around 10 PM, but I decided it was too late for a workout: 16,729 steps/12.6 km.

Thursday, December 7: Exactly as above: 14,266 steps/10.6 km.

Friday, December 8: Finally back in the gym for a pretty light all-body workout (3). And my steps for the day: 14,506/10.5 km.

Saturday, December 9: A legs and core workout (4) in the early evening. My steps for the day: 17,465/13.4 km.

Sunday, December 10: An upper body workout (5) in the late afternoon, and my steps for the day: 14,380/10.8 km.

Monday, December 11: Just some walking, most of it at night: 14,880 steps/11.5 km.

Tuesday, December 12: As above: 15,058 steps/11.3 km.

Wednesday, December 13: A full body workout from 9 PM to 10:05 PM (6). And my total steps for the day: 15,672/12.3 km.

Thursday, December 14: A little walking again: 7,116 steps/5.32 km.

Friday, December 15: A little more walkling: 11,585 steps/8.77 km.

Saturday, December 16: A little less walking than yesterday on a cold day as I cleaned my place and made progress wrapping up the semester: 10,439 steps/8 km. And a light home workout: sides, lower back, and calves (7). 

Sunday, December 17: Back in the gym for an evening workout: legs and core (8). And a lot of walking: 25,828 steps/19.7 km.

Monday, December 18: Just some walking: 14,913 steps/11.1 km.

Tuesday, December 19: I returned to my gym for a 52-minute upper-body workout: chest, shoulders, triceps, back, lats, traps, biceps, and forearms (9). And my steps for the day: 16,726 steps/12.2 km.

Wednesday, December 20: Just some walking: 14,272/10.6 km.

Thursday, December 21: An evening gym session: legs (10). And my total steps for the day: 13,990/10.3 km.

Friday, December 22: Just some walking as my winter classes began. My steps for the day: 17,718/13,3 km.

Saturday, December 23: I almost skipped my gym workout as the time 8:20 was fast approaching the 9 PM closing time. But I did go in and the shorter time resulted in a better workout. It was like a 20-minute circuit training session with almost no breaks between sets: chest, shoulders, triceps, and traps, and that really was an intense workout (11). I think I need to do workouts like that more often.  My steps for the day: 14,201/10.3 km.

Sunday, December 24: Another intense workout, and this one was certianly in a fasted state: Back, lats, biceps, forearms, core, a set of side delts raises. and a lighter legs workout (12) as I’m planning a legs day on Tuesday. My steps for the day:  9,774/7.4 km

Monday, December 25: Just some Christmas walking sans Christmas music: 16,424/12.6 km

Tuesday, December 26: No gym as I realized my winter schedule is more tiring than I had expected: 17,137 steps/13.2 km

Wednesday, December 27: No gym as I realized my winter schedule is A LOT more tiring than I had expected. I did, however, manage to hit 20,000 steps: 20,404 steps/15.8 km

Thursday, December 28: Just more walking: 14,024 steps/10.7 km

Friday, Decemer 29: And just more walking again: 12,884 steps/9.9 km.

Saturday, December 30: Quite a lot of walking on a wet snowy day: 21,563 steps/15.4 km.

Sunday, December 31: A little more walking (10,675 steps/7.8 km) and my first gym session for a week, which was also of course my last of the month and year – it was just a light and quick full body workout (12) in anticipation of a new workout schedule starting tomorrow.
