In April I took a gamble. Knowing full well my history of not using fitness equipment that I buy. You can see my not-so-often-used cross trainer in the background; I buy quite a lot of exercise equipment. The gamble was to buy one more, and I splashed out on an exercise bike.
The idea came from reading the Stephen King novella Stationary Bike, which is what I gather Americans call exercise bikes.To my surprise, it has been a piece of equipment that I have used regularly.
Key to my regular usage is the fact that my exercise bike sits in front of my beloved flat-screen TV. I’m always pretty busy during semesters juggling work and study, but one activity I always find time for regardless of how busy I am is watching TV. Combining watching TV with my exercise bike sessions ensures that I also find time for exercise. Buying that bike really was a stroke of genius: two birds, one stone.
