Saturday, Jan. 1: The year 2022 begin with a morning weights session and a little cardio at my new gym: chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, calves, thighs, hamstrings, sides, lower back, and two short treadmill sessions.
Sunday, Jan. 2: A quick Sunday morning workout: sides, lower back, and two short cardio sessions – one on a treadmill and the other on a beastly stairmaster.
That was followed by a week of teaching seven hours a day, and that totally wiped me out!
Saturday, Jan. 8: Some walking today: 14,261 steps/11 km.
Sunday, Jan. 9: One advantage my new gym has over my old gym is that it is open on Sundays until 9 pm. I got in a 45-minute evening workout: back, lats, biceps, forearms, sides, lower back, calves, hamstrings, thighs, a ten-minute treadmill session and a two-minutes of stair mastering on a stairmaster.
Friday, Jan. 14: To celebrate the end of the first children’s camp, I walked 16,001 steps/12.2 km
Saturday, Jan. 15: My classes and grading kept me away from the gym for the working week, but I returned highly motivated on Saturday morning: calves, sides, lower back, chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, and 16 treadmill minutes spent listening to a lift of fan favorite science fiction books. I also performed 15,245 steps/11.4 km.
Monday, Jan. 17: A short workout (back, lats, forearms, calves, sides, and lower back) and a short treadmill session. Besides the treadmill, I completed 12,864 steps/8.23 km.
Wednesday, Jan. 19: Just a weights session as slowly my new gym is starting to feel like home: chest, shoulders, triceps, lats (one set), calves, thighs, hamstrings and a set of lower back extensions and side raises.
Thursday. Jan. 20: Weights and cardio today as I progress through my least busiest week in a while: back, lats, biceps, traps, calves, sides, lower back extensions, and a steady 7 treadmill minutes with a bit of an incline.
Friday, Jan. 21: Just some walking – as a single man for the first time in a while: 13,564 steps/9.41 km.
Saturday, Jan. 22: A short and sweet 30 minute workout: calves, thighs, hamstrings, one set of lat pulldowns, some light rows, sides, lower back, one set of bicep curls, a two-minute run and 80 jumps with my long-neglected skipping rope. And I’m liking my new gym more and more.
Monday, Jan. 24: A solid workout: calves, chest, shoulders, triceps, a little sides and lower back, 100 skips, and a short 3-minute treadmill session that got the heartrate up!
Tuesday, Jan. 25: Just a lot of walking today: 15,544 steps/10 km.
Wednesday, Jan. 26: A light workout and more cardio: back, lats, biceps, forearms, legs, sides, lower back, 110 skips and a short 4-minute treadmill session. I also walked 12,258 steps/7.9 km:
Thursday, Jan. 27: Just a lot of walking as I approach tomorrow, my last day of winter teaching: 19,708 steps/12. 9 km.
Friday, Jan. 28: More walking with a plan to return to my gym tomorrow (Saturday) morning: 13, 611 steps/8.1 km.
Saturday, January 29: Back in the gym as planned for weights and a little cardio: calves, chest, shoulders, triceps, traps, sides, lower back, leg presses, hamstring curls, a 2-minute run that felt like hours and two skipping sets of 75 and 65 jumps. I also walked a lot: 19,329 steps/12.4 km.
Monday, January 31: Just a lot of walking to end the month since my gym is closed for the lunar new year holiday: 23,212 steps/15.7 km. I also did a set of side raises and lower back extensions once I was home.
